 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 current, under very economical conditions.

   The building material which is the subject of the present invention is essentially characterized in that it is composed of at least a flat element stiffened by a metal sheet provided with projections obtained by stamping and having flattened tops not which the said one or more. * metal sheets * are secured with the said element or lea *.

   According to the invention the * protrusions of the stiffening sheet are advantageously stamped * on both faces * of said tale.

   In order to reinforce the stiffening effect of the stamped sheet, the protrusions are advantageously distributed in staggered rows.

   The element (s) * plana may be of metallic material, of metallic material coated with plastic material, of plastic or of glass.

   Still according to the invention, the free space between a flat element and a stiffening sheet is advantageously occupied by an insulating material from a thermal and / or acoustic point of view depending on the requirements of the construction.

   A subject of the present invention is also a process for manufacturing the material described above.

   The method which is the subject of the present invention is essentially characterized in that the flat element (s) is (are) joined to the stiffening sheet (s) by a gluing or welding operation.

   The appended figures are given by way of nonlimiting example in order to make the object of the present invention fully understood.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   FIG. 1 is a plan view of a stamped stiffening plate showing a method of distributing the stamping projections. We can obviously have other modes of distribution of @ said projections without departing from the scope of the present invention. The method of distribution shown in FIG. 1 is interesting because it makes it possible to ensure that the construction material has equal flexural strength in all * divisions.

   FIG. 2 is a side view of a material according to the invention and a compote of two outer * flat * sheet * (1) and (2) stiffened by a single stamped sheet (3). We can see the * projections (4) distributed * successively on one face and then on the opposite face of the sheet (3). Lea flat tops * (5). are in contact with the flat plates * (1) and (Z) and clear the connection by gluing or welding of said flat plates (1) and (2) with the stamped sheet (3).

   FIG. 3 is a variant of FIG. 2 and shows a flat sheet (1) stiffened by a stamped metal sheet (2), the projections (3) of which are all distributed over the same face of said sheet (Z).

   FIG. 4 is a variant of FIG. 2 and represents two outer flat sheets (1) and (Z) stiffened by two pressed metal sheets (3) and (4).

   The material described above can be the subject of many applications * such * as: slabs, floors, walls, walls and simultaneously satisfy very varied requirements * such as mechanical resistance, rigidity, aesthetics, thermal and / or acoustic insulation , lightness, low cost price.
