 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  "Surface coating for partitions or panel walls".

   In a known type of wall construction, # chipboard plywood is screwed to a wall framing using metal U-channels, where the two edges of the U-channel grip the joined edges of neighboring panels.

   The hollow and the edge of the U-shaped screed are covered by a cover profile made of a @@ ificiolle metal. If this construction indeed allows

 panel walls with frame moldings profiled% in @ U and which can be screwed in place, and which do not have this disadvantage, is now solved according to the invention by adjacent panels, joined in one plane and with side grooves to accommodate U-profile frame moldings, U-profile frame moldings and covers ... profile joints that cover the joint between the panels along its entire length and do not protrude from the joint,
As wall panels are preferably used; laminated plywood panels approximately 14 mm thick, and as U-shaped moldings galvanized metal moldings.

   The profiled joint covers are preferably made of an artificial material, in particular of hard polyvinyl chloride.

   Other judicious features and details of execution of the invention are described in more detail below, with reference to the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing which shows in
Figure 1 a horizontal section in, a partition, with joint, and in
Figure 2 a horizontal section through a wall covering, placed directly on - for example - a masonry wall.

   In Figure 1, the panels 1 are mounted on a known type of support frame. In order to arrange and read out the panels 1 in vertical and horizontal directions, use is made according to the invention in accordance with the invention of U-shaped and perforated frame moldings 2, the edge of which is engaged in one. corresponding lateral groove 3 of an adjacent Mullion 1 in

 the plan.

   As shown in Figure 1, the U-profile frame grinding 2 is shaped in such a way that it does not abut on the support profile 5, but that an inter-
 EMI2.2
 intermediate 6 is reserved so that iw ta 9.4yz-.tior. in place of the frame moldings 2 profiles 6a il xi J) Y.a tie Parker screws the panels 1 are used in place.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   Joints which generally have a width of LO to 15 mm. are covered by a self-tightening profiled joint cover 4 which, according to the invention, constitutes a flooded joint, not projecting on the plane of the wall. In this way not only technical advantages are achieved but also, owing to the pronounced optical effect, attractive aesthetic effects which can be further enhanced by moldings of colored artificial material.

   The arrangement shown in FIG. 2 is in principle exactly the same, but here the supporting frame is replaced by the solid wall 8 to be coated. The U-sections are judiciously fixed to the wall 8 using wood screws 9 and openable plugs 10. When the faces of the walls are not flat, it is necessary to slide in place suitable compensating furring.

   A preferred embodiment of the invention has the advantage that it is possible, despite the tongue-and-groove device, to dismantle, if necessary, any insulated panel of the assembly and to replace it with another without however, have to dismantle other panels near the assembly.

   This is made possible, in accordance with the invention, by the fact that instead of using U-shaped frame moldings, running from one room of the floor to the ceiling, small elements of profiled moldings are used. U-shaped, the length of which is such that a sliding or removal out of the grooves of the panels can be made through the extreme transverse joints of the top or the bottom, which normally run along the ceiling or paving, such element can indeed have a length of. approximately equal to the free height of the transverse joint through which it must be removed. It is of course necessary that the transverse joint be of suitable shape, and not protrude from the grooves of the panels.

   The length of these elements is preferably 10 to 50mm.

   The extreme edges of the wall covering, and

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   In particular, the connections to the ceiling and to the pavement can be shaped in various known ways. However, Z-profile or U-shaped frame moldings are suitably used which do not take on the edges of the panel but in a groove of the panel corresponding to the shape of the joints according to the invention, so that the end joints and the connecting joints are recessed on the plane of the panel. The extreme joints are suitably covered by a profiled molding in artificial material, suitable deformation, CLAIMS.
