New diazoles of formula: where R1 = opt. substd. alkyl or aryl, R2 = alkenyl, alkynyl, benzyl or alkyl opt. substd. with COOH, COOM (where M = a salt-forming cation), COOAlkyl, CONH2, CONHAlk, or CONAlk2, X is -O- or -S-, and Y is sulphonyl or sulphinyl) are esp. active as fungicides and nematocides.
