Abstract

Injection moulding machine with two independent material throat and plasticisation chambers fed from twin hoppers and discharging under impulses from independent rams into a combination of interchangeable nozzles and support bolsters which allow the geometry of the injection positions and the separate or conjugate distribution of the two melts to be varied. Pref. each hopper has an ancillary dose ram. For mfr. of two colour or skin-and-core or striped mouldings. The relative quantities of the two material streams is dependent on the relative ram cycles. The distribution of the streams is independently and readily changed by selection of different nozzles or bolsters with different runner patterns.
