Description
<EMI ID=1.1> La présente invention se rapporte à des perfectionnements au procédé pour améliorer la qualité des briques réfractaires, procédé tel que décrit dans la demande de brevet principal n[deg.] 6/45.421 déposée le 26 mars 1976. Dans ce brevet principal, on décrit un procédé pour améliorer la qualité des briques réfractaires et spécialement des briques réfractaires qui sont destinées à être utilisées dans des > récipients métallurgiques, tels que des mélangeurs, des cuves de traitement sous vide, des poches-torpilles, et, en général, dans tous les récipients utilisant des réfractaires cuits et ce, -principalement aux zones où la scorie vient au contact des dits réfractaires. Le procédé, objet du brevet principal, est essentiellement caractérisé en ce que l'on introduit dans les réfractaires, après leur cuisson, entre les grains qui les constituent, un matériau très finement divisé, dit de protection, réagissant davantage que le réfractalre avec les scories agressives et détournant ainsi vers elle-même le pouvoir agressif de la scorie, ce qui permet une protection efficace du réfractaire considéré. Il a été constaté que les briques réfractaires qui ont été "imprégnées" avec ce matériau résistent de façon nettement accrue aux sollicitations de la scorie, toutes autres conditions restant par ailleurs égales. Suivant une modalité avantageuse de ce brevet principal, le réfractaire utilisé est à base de magnésie et/ou de chromite, tandis <EMI ID=2.1> CaO. Le présent perfectionnement a pour objet de révéler <EMI ID=3.1> REVENDICATIONS 1. Procédé pour améliorer la qualité des briques réfractaires destinées spécialement à être utilisées dans des récipients métallurgiques, procédé dans lequel, après cuisson de celles-ci, on introduit entre les grains qui les constituent un matériau très finement divisé réagissant davantage que le dit réfractaire avec les scories métallurgiques, caractérisé en ce que le réfractaire est à base de magnésie et/ou de chromite et en ce que le <EMI ID=4.1>

- 2. Procédé suivant la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que l'Introduction se fait par exemple par trempage, par aspiration sous vide, par projection d'un fluide, soit contenant le dit matériau en suspension ou en solution (éventuellement colloïdale en tout ou en partie), soit constituée d'une forme liquide de ce matériau (par exemple un sel de celui-ci), ces opérations <EMI ID=5.1>(avec ou sans décomposition), qui fait apparartre le matériau souhaité sous la forme finement divisée désirée.
