Abstract

The folding convertible armchair-bed-settee has a double frame, one of which (4) is mobile and slides inside the other, fixed, frame (1,2,2',3). The bed's framework, which is in two or four parts, is pivot-mounted on the mobile frame. In the arm-chair position, the first part of the framework is vertical against the back (1) of the chair, while the three other parts are situated inside the mobile frame.

Description

  Fauteuil- canapé-lit repliable

On connaît déjà divers types

 <EMI ID=1.1>

 <EMI ID=2.1>

 <EMI ID=3.1>

- à la figure 3a, une vue en coupe suivant la ligne II/II de la figure 1;
- à la figure 3b, une même vue qu'à la figure 3a mais le bâti mobile tiré;
- à la figure 3c, une même vue qu'à la figure 3b mais, en plus, le cadre du lit dégagé hors du bâti mobile;
- à la figure 3d, une même vue qu'à la figure 3c mais, en plus, le cadre du lit entièrement déployé;
- à la figure 4, une vue de profil par le dessus du bâti mobile;

(4), celui-ci étant entièrement et au maximum glissé dans le bâti fixe (1, 2, 2', 3), (figure 3a);

(9) car la partie (5a) est tenue dans le bâti mobile (4) par l'axe de pivotement (10);

3[deg.]) le cadre du lit (5a, 5b, 5c,- 5d) étant dégagé du bâti mobile (4)
(figure 3c), il est possible d'ouvrir entièrement le lit en déplaçant la partie (5d) du cadre du lit selon la flèche ( 11) et la ramenant vers le sol;

(figure 3b).

 <EMI ID=5.1>

  Folding sofa bed

The present invention relates to a folding armchair-sofa bed,

preferably fully removable. We already know various types

folding armchair-sofa beds but they all have a

important linkage and / or generally also the part

back of the chairs will be folded down which will cause the need

to provide either a vacuum at the back of the chair or to have to move the chair before opening it to use it as a bed.

The present invention overcomes these drawbacks by proposing a foldable sofa bed which is characterized in that it is essentially constituted by a double frame of armchair or sofa, one of which, the movable frame, is capable of sliding in the other, the fixed frame, and movable frame movable towards the outside and on which is pivotally mounted the

frame of the bed, the latter comprising a frame in two or four parts which can be folded at right angles to each other, so that in the armchair position, the first part of the back being vertical, the second or fourth part of seat is horizontal and perpendicular to it while in the bed position, the two or four parts are

FOLDING ARMCHAIR-SOFA-BED

horizontally aligned without the back part protruding from the fixed frame.

Preferably, the following essential arrangements are provided:

two or

 <EMI ID = 1.1>

by hinges and at least the three most important parts, include supports on the ground, the first head part resting on its axis of rotation held by the movable frame, the 2nd or

two other main parts being provided with folding legs or crutches which fall automatically in the deployed position of the bed frame and at least one also rests on the movable frame.

2 [deg.] The movable frame has on each side a tongue which moves in a slide which is provided on each inner side

the fixed frame or vice versa; in addition, the movable frame is provided at its outer end with two rollers facilitating its movement. In order to limit the displacement of the movable frame to what is necessary, there is provided on each side a double reciprocal stop system of which

or foldable

a removable / so that one can, if desired, separate the movable frame from the fixed frame.

 <EMI ID = 2.1>

when it is a double bed, it is expected that the fixed frame is in four

 <EMI ID = 3.1>

two side parts (armrests), for example by means of pins and then the backrest (headboard) which is itself held by a game

screws and nuts to each of the two side parts.

4 [deg.] Various other arrangements are still planned to facilitate

the exit as the maintenance of the frame of the bed in the movable frame these constructive details will emerge better from the example of embodiment given below by way of nonlimiting example with respect to the drawings which represent:
- in Figure 1, a schematic perspective view of a chair bed of a person in the chair position; <EMI ID = 4.1>
- in Figure 3a, a sectional view along line II / II of Figure 1;
- In Figure 3b, the same view as in Figure 3a but the movable frame pulled;
- In Figure 3c, the same view as in Figure 3b but, in addition, the bed frame released from the movable frame;
- In Figure 3d, the same view as in Figure 3c but, in addition, the frame of the fully deployed bed;
- in Figure 4, a side view from above of the movable frame;
- in Figure 5, a side view of the movable frame along line III / III of Figure 4.

Referring to these different figures, there is shown by (1), the head of the bed which also constitutes the back of the chair; by (2, 2 ') two partial armrests of the bed which will form the armrests of the armchair; by (3) the bottom of the chair on which the two armrests (2) will first be fixed each by a pin (not shown),

then the head of the bed (1) to these two armrests by screws and nuts (not shown), all of these four elements (1, 2, 2 ', 3) forming the fixed frame. By (4), there is shown the movable frame on which is mounted the bed frame (5) in four parts (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d); the bed frame in the example chosen, also forms the bed base which is of the type with wooden slats slightly curved upwards; by (6) the mattress of the bed.

Referring to Figures 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, we can see the different positions that the chair will take:

1 [deg.]) Fully closed and in chair position; the first part of the upright frame (5a) is vertical and against the back (1) of the chair, the other three parts of the frame (5b, 5c, 5d) are in the movable frame

(4), the latter being fully and at most slid into the fixed frame (1, 2, 2 ', 3), (Figure 3a);

2 [deg.]) The movable frame (4) disengaged from the fixed frame (1, 2, 2 ', 3) by pulling it according to the arrow (7) (Figure 3a), the position of the different parts (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) of the frame is not changed (Figure 3b); however, it is possible from this moment to release the frame (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) and the mattress (6) from the movable frame (4) and this by pulling along the arrow (8) which causes the folding of the part (5a) of the frame according to the arrow

(9) because the part (5a) is held in the movable frame (4) by the pivot axis (10);

3 [deg.]) The bed frame (5a, 5b, 5c, - 5d) being released from the movable frame (4)
(Figure 3c), it is possible to fully open the bed by moving the part (5d) of the bed frame according to the arrow (11) and bringing it back to the ground;

4 [deg.]) We finally find the four parts (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) of the bed frame aligned in a horizontal position.

In order to allow and facilitate the various displacements indicated above (arrows 7, 8, 9 and 11), provision is preferably made and as shown, to respectively provide the fixed frame on its lateral sides (2, 2 ') inside ( Figure 2) a slide (12) in which will slide the tongue (13a, 13b) which is provided with each of the lateral outer sides (4a, 4b) of the movable frame (4) (Figure 4) and this to

like a drawer. Of course, the reverse can be expected, that is to say, the slides on the movable frame (4) and the tongues

on the fixed frame (5); in combination with this sliding device, the movable frame (4) is provided at the front of two rollers (14) moving on the ground, but one could also have provided at the rear rollers moving on the bottom (3) of the fixed frame or any other known means.

To allow the parts (5b, 5c, 5d) to come out more easily from the bed frame, from the fixed frame, the front interior part (4c) is provided
(Figure 4) two rounded buffers (15) on which will be able to slide

the bed frame when performing the arrow movement (8)
(Figure 3b).

In order to allow the different positions of the frame (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) of the bed and as shown in Figures 3b, 3c, 3d, it was necessary to plan to articulate the different parts of the frame together; as shown, it may be simple hinges (16) placed on each front side of the bed frame but of course, other means of articulation can be provided.

In order to ensure the holding of the frame (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) of the bed in the bed position (Figure 3d), that is to say on the floor, on the one hand, the head element (5a ) of the frame rests on the pivot axis (10) which is fixed in the protrusions (17a, 17b) protruding behind the lateral sides (4a, 4b) of the movable frame (4) (Figures 4 and 5 ); on the other hand, the elements (5b, 5d) of the frame are provided with crutches or feet respectively (18, 19) and which will move into position according to the arrows (20 and 21 respectively) (Figures 3c and 3d); conversely, they will fall back into place when the bed is closed; in addition, the element (5b) when it is moved from the movable frame (4) is also supported on the front part (4c) of this frame.

Although not shown, it is also possible to provide a stand or

folding stand for element (5c) of the frame; in this case it

however, it is a foot that can be folded transversely and not towards the front or the back, like the feet or crutches (18, 19) of the two other elements (5b, 5d) of the bed frame.

To ensure the good behavior of the element (5d) in the movable frame (4)

in the chair position, it is expected that its end will take

underside of a rounded part (22) located on each interior lateral side
(2, 2b) of the fixed frame (1); it is relatively easy to achieve this movement, the mattress (6) having a certain elasticity, there is necessarily a possible play.

In order to prevent the movable frame (4) from being pulled too far and out of the fixed frame (1, 2, 2 ', 3), a double system of stops (23, 24) is provided; each of these two stops will meet when the movable frame is pulled to the maximum. Preferably and in order to be able to easily dismantle the chair-bed, the stop (23) of the fixed frame is placed on a plate (25) capable of being removed; of course, one can also provide that these stops (23) are capable of being easily removed.

But we can also provide folding stops and for example

 <EMI ID = 5.1>

it is fixed directly on the armrest (2 or 2 '); it then suffices to close the hinge to allow passage of the stop (24) of the movable frame (4).

In the more specific case of a sofa bed, that is to say at least two armchair seats (not shown), we will be able to make it exactly like the armchair bed shown in Figures 1 to 4; simply the width of the various elements (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d) of the bed frame will in principle be simply, for example, double, as will the fixed frame and the movable frame of a sofa-bed, or, if the structure of this sofa bed is wide enough to contain frame elements of a width of one meter ninety or more, we can be satisfied with the first two elements (5a, 5b) which will take the

respective positions visible in the figures (3a, 3b, 3c) and these two elements (5a, 5b) forming a bed no longer in the same position as they form a sofa but transversely to the sofa position.

The invention is not limited to the representation which is given thereof and

one would not go out of its frame by making modifications and / or adding complementary parts which could facilitate the movements of the different elements of the frame and, for example, by providing a rod and a spring forcing the element (5a) of the frame to assume its vertical and horizontal position; for example also by providing safety hooks blocking the elements of the frame in the bed position.
