En vue de modifier les matières de charge siliciques synthétiques, on les met à l'état de suspension aqueuse et on les traite au moyen de composés d'organo-silicium, éventuellement en présence d'un émulsifiant. Les matières de charge ainsi modifiées améliorent sensiblement les propriétés du caoutchouc vulcanisable.
