Abstract

The invention relates to a device where investment costs arereduced, contact of the gases entering the cooling tower and itslining and the mixture between the gas and the steam in it areavoided, and no chimney is required. The flow of scrubbed gas isdischarged centrally of the cooling tower, encircled by thevapours. Ducts (1) for scrubbed gas from a connection flange (3)of the equipment (2) for the elimination of sulphur from fluegases directly and rectalinearly, with or without previously madeintermediate supports, are driven across the lining (4) of tower(5). The discharge of gases from vertical outlet pipe connections(7) is above the plane of water dispersion (11), i.e. at least tothe level of connection flange (3) of the equipment for theelimination of sulphur from flow gases. The diverting devices (6)have vertical outlet pipe connections (7) and guiding blades (8)and are positioned by means of pipe connections (7) with an angleof setting in such a way that the projection of the outgoing gasstreams coming out of pipe connections (7) vertically and in themiddle, fall into the rotationally-symmetrical axis of the coolingtower (5) in the zone of an upper ring-like supporting beam (9).The length of a pipe connection (7) corresponds to at least 1.5times the diameter of the duct (1) for scrubber gas.
