Abstract

The present invention relates a new use of taxoid derivatives. It relates more precisely to a method for treating abnormal cell proliferation of different resistant cell lines expressing multidrug resistance P-glycoprotein. The type of cells are representative of colon cancer cells. The products of the present invention are also usable to treat the colon cancer of mammals including men. The preferred compound is 4alpha-acetoxy- 2alpha-benzoyloxy-5 beta,20-epoxy-1beta-hydroxy-7beta-dimethoxy- 9-oxo][-taxen]3alpha-yl (2R,3S)-3-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-2- hydroxy-3-phenyl-priopionate. 9 claims
