Abstract

The method is used in plant protection. It ensures the production of large quantities of the final product insecticidal polypeptide. The method consists in isolating and lysing cells of C. thuringensis var. kurstaki ndi, and separating the plasmids in a known manner. The plasmid material is purified and dialyzed. A DNA bank is prepared from the plasmid DNA of the microorganism, the resulting fragmented plasmid DNA is cloned into a suitable vector. Selection is performed for the presence of the mge 1 protein. A microorganism is transformed with the DNA fragment encoding the insecticidal protein substance, including the parts cut from it that have retained their insecticidal effect. 15 claims
