Abstract
Patente de Invenção para FIBRA DE áREA EFETIVA GRANDE TENDO UMA INCLINAçãO DE DISPERSãO TOTAL BAIXA". E revelada uma fibra de guia de onda ótica de modo simples, tendo uma área efetiva relativamente grande e boa resistência à encurvamento. A fibra de guia de onda é caracterizada por um núcleo segmentado tendo um segmento central (30) e pelo menos um segmento anular (32, 34, 36) circundando o segmento central. Pelo menos um segmento tem um índice de refração relativo negativo, onde o índice de refração de referência é tomado como o índice de revestimento. A dispersão total da fibra é positiva para comprimentos de onda acima de cerca de 1500 nm, a inclinação de dispersão e tipicamente menor do que 0,08 ps/nm^ 2^-km, e a atenuação induzida sob teste de encurvamento de série de pino é tipicamente menor do que 5 dB/km.
