Abstract

"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA A DETERMINAçãO DE PROPRIEDADES DE ALIMENTO OU DE ALIMENTAçãO". A presente invenção refere-se a um método e um aparelho para a determinação de propriedades de um meio de alimento ou de alimentação, tal como o teor de gordura de carne, pelo uso de absorciometria de raios X dupla, o meio sendo uma matéria-prima de alimento ou de alimentação, um produto ou um produto intermediário de alimento ou de alimentação, ou um lote, uma amostra ou uma seção da mesma, especificamente, para uso em linha em um matadouro. O método compreende varrer substancialmente todo o meio por feixes de raios X (16, 18), que têm pelo menos dois níveis de energia, incluindo um nível baixo e um nível alto, a detecção dos feixes de raios X tendo passado através do meio, para uma pluralidade de áreas (pixels) do meio, para cada área, cálculo de um valor, A~ low~, que representa a absorção na área do meio no nível de energia baixo, para cada área, calcular um valor, A~ high~, que representa a absorção na área do meio no nível de energia alto. A acurácia da determinação é melhorada consideravelmente pela geração, para cada área, de uma pluralidade de valores sendo produtos do tipo A~ low~^ n^ * A~ high~^ m^, em que n e m são números inteiros positivos e/ou negativos ou zero, e pela previsão das propriedades do meio nesta área, pela aplicação de um modelo de calibração à pluralidade de valores, em que o modelo de calibração define relações entre a pluralidade de valores e propriedades do meio.
