Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "REVESTIMENTOS PARA AIRBAG PROVENDO UMA RESISTêNCIA TéRMICA AUMENTADA". Esta invenção refere-se a novas composições de revestimento para airbag e sistemas compreendendo microesferas expansíveis com o calor, que provêm um isolamento eficaz para o tecido de airbag em questão durante a inflação exotérmica. Os tecidos para airbag de acordo com a invenção são pré-calandrados anteriormente à aplicação desta composição ou são revestidos através do método de faca flutuante com as referidas composições contendo microesferas. Os tecidos e acolchoados revestidos para airbag podem então ser aquecidos para expansão das microesferas que constituem a composição de revestimento, tanto no interior dos interstícios entre os fios individuais do tecido, quanto sobre os fios elevados deste tecido. Assim sendo tal sistema de revestimento provê um nível extremamente alto de proteção contra a exposição ao calor, que permite uma integridade estrutural do acolchoado de airbag em referência e provê uma proteção contra a alta temperatura de inflação para um acolchoado de passageiro de um veículo durante o referido evento de inflação altamente exotérmica. O método de configuração de tal revestimento específico para airbag em tecidos para airbag também se encontra englobado por esta invenção.
