Abstract

"SISTEMA E MéTODO PARA UMA NAVEGAçãO MELHORADA". Técnicas de navegação capacita a páginas web de Internet e outros quadros de imagem serem navegados usando um teclado convencional (28) de um controle remoto de televisão (30), por exemplo. Na primeira técnica, um aplicativo de mapeamento de guia (23) liga objetos nos vários quadros contidos em uma página de web acessada de modo que quando um usuário atua uma tecla direcional em um controle remoto,(30) ou um teclado (28), o aplicativo de mapeamento de guia (23) navega o usuário para um objeto no presente quadro para um outro quadro para o qual o objeto correntemente selecionado está ligado. O aplicativo de mapeamento de guia (23) também emprega indicadores de "borda de quadro" nos objetos localizados na borda de um quadro. Quando um indicador de "borda de quadro" for detectado, o aplicativo busca e localiza o quadro adjacente apropriado, assim como o objeto dentro do quadro adjacente mais próximo ao objeto contendo o indicador de "borda de quadro", e então navega o usuário para aquele objeto. Provê-se também preferivelmente um aplicativo de navegação (31) que detecta quando um usuário atua sobre uma tecla específica ou uma combinação de teclas ou a mantém pressionada por um predeterminado período de tempo, por exemplo, e muda a funcionalidade da tecla ou teclas de uma navegação de cursor para navegação de mouse para permitir o usuário navegar uma página web como se dispusesse de um dispositivo de entrada de mouse.
