Abstract

"MARCADORES GENéTICOS PARA CARACTERìSTICAS MELHORADAS DE CARNE EM ANIMAIS". São descritos marcadores genéticos do gene do receptor de melanocortina-4 (MC4R) porcina que são associados com características favoráveis de qualidade de carne que incluem, perda por escorrimento, veios de gordura, pH e coloração. Além disso os dados de seq³ências inéditas das regiões do gene descrito que podem ser usados em uma seleção por teste de PCR para a presença do marcador. O marcador genético pode ser usado para selecionar animais para fins de procriação que tenham as características desejadas. São também descritos kits que aproveitam o teste de PCR.
