Abstract

"SEGMENTAçãO DE IMAGEM BASEADA EM FUNDO". Método para segmentação de uma imagem usando um processo de segmentação baseado em fundo é proporcionado. Uma imagem de documento (102) é filtrada em passo baixo e decimada. A imagem decimada é processada em baixa resolução por um estágio de segmentação de baixa resolução (104). Os resultados da segmentação incluem identificação de um fundo principal e um ou mais objetos. Objetos que não podem ser classificados em classes de texto ou de imagem são ainda segmentados em um fundo local e objetos menores. Esse processo é reiterado até que todos os objetos sejam classificados em classes de texto ou de imagem. Os resultados são sobrepostos na imagem (102) durante um estágio de refinamento de resolução original (106) para refinar a segmentação.
