Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA A PRODUçãO DE POLIESTIRENO EXPANSìVEL EM FORMA DE CONTAS (EPS), POLIESTIRENO EXPANSìVEL EM FORMA DE CONTAS, E, USO DE CONTAS DE EPS". A invenção refere-se a um processo para a produção de poliestireno expansível em forma de contas através de polimerização em suspensão de estireno, na presença de 1 a 5 %, em peso, de um hidrocarboneto com de 4 a 6 átomos de carbono e de 0,5 a 3,5 %, em peso, de um hidrocarboneto alifático saturado com um ponto de ebulição acima de 70<198>C, mas na ausência de um agente de transferência de cadeia, o qual dá origem a uma redução do peso molecular do poliestireno.
