Abstract

"DISPOSITIVO AMPLIFICADOR óPTICO, SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO DE FIBRA óPTICA, E, MéTODO PARA AMPLIFICAçãO óPTICA". Um número de fibras ópticas não lineares (12A-C) são configuradas em uma configuração paralela. As fibras (12A-C) são bombeadas com bombas ópticas (18) possuindo um comprimento de onda ligeiramente mais longo que o comprimento de onda de dispersão zero para cada fibra. Por meio de um desmultiplexador (14), sinais ópticos dentro de um certo intervalo de comprimento de onda são admitidos para entrar e sair de fibras diferentes, nas quais a amplificação paramétrica pode ser alcançada. Selecionando o comprimento de onda de bombeamento fora de cada intervalo correspondente, a conversação cruzada será suprimida. As fibras não lineares (12A-C) podem ser bombeadas por bombas laser separadas, ou duas ou mais das fibras não lineares podem ser bombeadas por uma bomba comum (18), dependendo das propriedades das diferentes fibras. Moldando as propriedades das fibras tais como o comprimento de onda de dispersão zero, o coeficiente de dispersão de segunda ordem e o coeficiente de dispersão de quarta ordem, características de amplificação benéficas podem ser alcançadas em diferentes intervalos de comprimento de onda.
