Abstract
"PROMOTOR BIDIRECIONAL, PLANTAS TRANSGêNICAS E VETOR DE TRANSFORMAçãO DE PLANTA". A presente invenção descreve um módulo bidirecional para a ativação de expressão de gene e a regulação da transcrição em ambas as direções. O módulo bidirecional compreende múltiplos elementos de seqüência de DNA cis regulatórios, estrategicamente dispostos para proporcionar um 'Módulo de Ativação de Transcrição' que alcança um elevado nível de expressão a partir do 'Módulo de Iniciação de Transcrição'. O último funciona como um promotor mínimo. O primeiro ativa a transcrição simultaneamente em ambas as direções a partir da última e também responde a diversas transcrições, induzindo o estímulo externo em ambas as direções. Uma vez que o mesmo é um módulo de transcrição bidirecional artificialmente projetado, o mesmo não apresenta uma seqüência de DNA equivalente no genoma vegetal. Isto reduz as chances dos genes serem silenciados por mecanismos com base em homologia. Um módulo promotor bidirecional como tal, pode portanto ser usado para desenvolver vetores eficientes para engenharia genética em plantas.
