Abstract
inserção de dispositivos médicos através de trajetórias não ortogonais e ortogonais dentro do crânio e métodos de utilização. a invenção compreende um dispositivo alongado adaptado para inserção incluindo autoinserção, através do corpo, especialmente do crânio. o dispositivo possui pelo menos um efetor ou sensor e é configurado para permitir implantação de múltiplos componentes funcionais através de um sítio de entrada único para dentro do crânio direcionando os componentes em ângulos diferentes. o dispositivo pode ser usado para fornecer terapia de estimulação elétrica, magnética e outras para o cérebro de um paciente. os comprimentos dos efetores, sensores e outros componentes podem atravessar completamente a espessura do crânio (em um ângulo diagonal) e atravessar um pouco através do córtex do cérebro. os componentes podem contatar diretamente o córtex do cérebro, mas daí seus sinais podem ser direcionados para alvos mais profundos dentro do cérebro. os comprimentos de efetores são diretamente proporcionais ao seu tamanho de baterias e capacidade para armazenar carga. entretanto, efetores de eletrodo angular mais longo não limitados pela espessura do crânio permitem baterias de longa duração as quais expandem as opções de tratamento.
