resumo patente de invenção: "aparelho e método para separar um material particulado". a presente descrição provê um aparelho para separar um material particulado. o aparelho compreende uma porção de recebimento para receber o material particulado apresentando um tamanho de partícula dentro de uma faixa predeterminada de tamanhos. o aparelho também compreende um distribuidor para receber o material particulado em uma extremidade superior do mesmo e apresentando uma superfície de distribuição inclinada ao longo da qual, em uso, o material particulado passa substancialmente por gravidade. uma área de superfície da superfície de distribuição inclinada aumenta na direção da extremidade inferior do distribuidor para facilitar um fluxo de alimentação de monocamada das partículas que saem e que caem da extremidade inferior do distribuidor distribuído como um fluxo de partículas em forma de cortina. o aparelho adicionalmente compreende um elemento magnético para gerar uma força magnética que é direcionada de tal modo que as partículas do fluxo de alimentação cadente que saem da extremidade inferior do distribuidor apresentem trajetos que dependem de propriedades magnéticas das partículas. o aparelho também compreende porções de separação para separar as partículas com base nos trajetos das partículas.
