Abstract
TO SIGNAL FAULTS IN SINGLE-PHASE ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION?. Single-phase fault signaling device applicable in overhead power distribution networks to detect the occurrence of a short circuit in the overhead power distribution network upstream of its point of installation and luminously signal such an event. The self-adjustment to the instantaneous demand current of the line and the non-sensitivity to the magnetizing currents of the distribution transformers connected to the line guarantee the reliability of the device's operation. The threaded clamp fixing system and the luminous signaling in all directions facilitate both the installation and the visualization of the device. Optionally, the beacon can incorporate an interrogator system that operates via wireless remote communication, thus allowing that, when a failure occurs, the light signaling only occurs when the observer approaches the failure beacon. The beacon's cabinet is innovative and is formed by a rear (26) and front (27) half that are joined through the light emitting diodes support (29) which is crossed by the threadable rod of the fixing clip (30) that maintains the device attached to the phase of the monitored distribution line (10). The electronic part of the device is made up of twelve blocks: the voltage detector (3) which receives the signal from the voltage sensor (l) which is located next to the monitored distribution line (10), the self-test (2) which simulates a failure, the current sensor (4) which sends an electrical signal to the overcurrent detector (5), the proportional signals to voltage and current are processed by the state machine (8), the initialization block (6 ) generates the signal that has the function of resetting the functional blocks of the state machine (8) when power is connected to the circuit of the fault signaling device or by external activation through the approximation of a permanent magnet (Im). The oscillator block (7) generates the clock signal for the operation of the state machine block (8). The output circuit (9) emits intermittent light signaling when the state machine (8) detects a phase failure in the monitored distribution network (10) and when the interrogation receiver block (11) is activated remotely by the observer through the interrogator emitter block(12).
