Abstract
"PROCESSO PARA PREPARAR 2,4-DIIDRóXIPIRIDINA". A presente invenção é dirigida a um processo para preparar 2,4-diidroxipiridina, compreendendo aquecer um composto de fórmula A: (A) em que R é H, alquila ou aralquila e ácido fosfórico, onde a relação de ácido fosfórico para água não é menor do que cerca de 27 para 1% em peso. A invenção também é dirigida a um processo para preparar 2,4-diidróxi-3-nitropiridina, compreendendo reagir 2,4-diidroxipiridina com ácido nítrico. Os processos da presente invenção preparam intermediários que são úteis no preparo de compostos que são utilizáveis para tratar doenças cardiovasculares caracterizadas por hipertensão ou isquemia do miocárdio, melhorando a lesão isquêmica ou a extensão do infarto do miocárdio, ou tratar hiperlipidemia ou hipercolesterolemia.
