Abstract

"APARELHO DE IMPRESSãO TéRMICA EM MúLTIPLAS CORES" Trata-se de um aparelho e método para a impressão multicolor em cartões de plástico, tais como cartões de crédito, cartões de identificação e semelhante. O aparelho de impressão inclui um cilindro rotativamente orientado (12) dotado de uma superfície externa de alta fricção e suave, e uma pluralidade de estações (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d, 14e) circunferencialmente espaçadas sobre o cilindro. O cilindro de fornecimento de tira receptora (16) é montado adjacente ao cilindro e fornece um comprimento não interrompido de uma tira receptora na superfície externa do cilindro. A tira receptora é friccionalmente engatada com a superfície externa do cilindro de modo que a tira gira com a mesma quando o cilindro é girado. Um motor escalonado e um conjunto de engrenagens são conectados ao cilindro para girar o cilindro, e portanto a tira receptora que é disposta na superfície externa do mesmo, para posicionar a tira receptora em relação às estações de impressão de cor. O motor escalonado e o conjunto de engrenagens permitem o preciso posicionamento do cilindro e da tira receptora em relação a cada cabeça de impressão para garantir o preciso registro de impressão.
