Abstract
<B>"AGENTES DE BIOCONTROLE PARA CONTROLAR DOENçAS DE RAìZES DE PLANTAS"<D>. São descritos pela presente invenção os Pseudomonas spp. fluorescentes que são eficazes no controle de doenças causadas por um ou mais dentre os patógenos Rhizoctonia, Gaeumannomyces graminis (Gg) e Pythium. As cepas de biocontrole apresentam um singular genótipo, conforme mostrado por um padrão característico de bandamento e exibem capacidade de colonização de raízes, que é caracterizada por uma mais alta densidade de população nas raízes e uma prolongada atividade de colonização, quando comparado às cegas supressoras de Gg conhecidas. Uma propriedade adicional é a capacidade de uma cepa duplicar o nível de biocontrole obtido naturalmente em um solo com declínio da doença "infestação total". São fornecidos os métodos para isolamento e identificação das cepas e seus usos para o controle de doenças causadas pelo Gg. São também descritos os Pseudomonas spp. transgênicos fluorescentes que apresentam um loco que codifica para a produção do antibiótico 2,4-diacetilfloroglucinol e apresentam um loco biosintético que codifica para a produção do antibiótico de ácido fenazina-1-carboxílico introduzido dentro do genoma.
