Abstract
''PROCESSO E SISTEMA PARA A FORMAçãO DE ARTIGO DE ESPUMA POLIMéRICA DE BAIXA DENSIDADE'' Uma resina polimérica cristalina, por exemplo, PET, é aquecida até derreter. Um agente de insuflação e a resina são misturados para produzir uma densidade de espuma em folha teórica de menos de 0,4 g/cm³. A mistura é resfriada a uma temperatura que se aproxime do ponto de congelamento da mistura e, então, extrudada em uma folha de espuma polimérica de células fechadas e substancialmente uniformes de densidade menor que 0,4 g/cm³. A folha extrudada é, então, resfriada por contato direto com uma superfície de resfriamento abaixo da temperatura de transição de vidro, de modo que o (s) agente (s) de insuflação condense (m), e a folha tenha uma densidade de mais de 0,4 g/cm³ e uma cristalinidade de folha de menos de 15%.
