As grades de eletrodo para baterias de armazenamento de chumbo compreendem uma liga de chumbo a qual, em adição ao cálcio e ao estanho e, se apropriado, à prata, contém pequenas quantidades de alumínio, o conteúdo de alumínio sendo pelo menos 0,012% sendo ajustado para ser tal que o diâmetro médio de grão na rede e na área de estrutura das grades seja de 200 <109>m - 600<109>m. Preferivelmente, o conteúdo de alumínio é de pelo menos 0,014%, o conteúdo de cálcio está entre 0,04 e 0,06%, o conteúdo de estanho é de 0,5 a 1,0%, em particular 0,5 a 0,7%, e o conteúdo de prata está entre 0,01 e 0,06%.
