Abstract

"PIGMENTOS DE CAULIM CALCINADOS DE ABRASãO REDUZIDA E MéTODO DE FILTRAGEM INTENSIFICADO". Trata-se de um método para reduzir a abrasão de um pigmento de caulim calcinado contendo sílica por meio de lixívia controlada de sílica a partir do pigmento, de preferência pelo uso de uma solução cáustica até dissolver a sílica do caulim calcinado. Em outro aspecto da invenção, o brilho, a opacidade ou ambos de um caulim calcinado aumenta quando se afina mais a alimentação de caulim fornecida ao calcinador. A combinação destes métodos resulta na produção de um caulim calcinado com baixa abrasão e alto brilho e opacidade. Outro aspecto da invenção refere-se a um método aperfeiçoado de filtragem de materiais dilatantes, tais como a argila calcinada lixiviada.
