Abstract

"MéTODO PARA ESTERIFICAR MADEIRA, E, PRODUTO DE MADEIRAGEM DIMENSIONALMENTE ESTABILIZADA". Métodos para esterificação de grupos hidroxila em celulose, hemicelulose, e lignina em madeira são descritos, em que a madeira é escolhida de Pinus taeda, elliottii, echinata, palustris, ou radiata. Os métodos podem incluir técnicas de secagem com solvente e o aquecimento proporcionado através de radiação eletromagnética, tais como microondas, e radiofreq³ência. Os produtos feitos a partir dos métodos são descritos que têm maior resistência ao apodrecimento e estabilidade dimensional quando comparados com produtos de madeira não esterificada.
