Abstract

"RESINAS TERMOFIXADAS RETARDADORAS DE CHAMA E MéTODOS PARA A FABRICAçãO DAS MESMAS". A presente invenção refere-se a artigos e processos por meio dos quais partículas de SAP retardadoras de chama são incorporadas em resinas sintéticas, especialmente resinas termofixadas curáveis. As partículas de SAP são de mais preferência hidratadas com uma solução aquosa retardadora de chama. Com relação a isso, a solução retardadora de chama pode consistir essencialmente somente de água ou de uma solução de água contendo um ou mais retardadores de chama inorgânicos solúveis em água. Quando as partículas de SAP são hidratadas com uma solução aquosa de retardador de chama inorgânico, as partículas de SAP podem em seguida ser secadas para remover substancialmente o componente de água. Dessa maneira, o retardador de chama inorgânico permanecerá como um resíduo seco fisicamente entrando no interior das partículas de SAP. Como tal, as partículas de SAP servem como uma matriz física na qual o retardador de chama inorgânico está disperso de forma homogênea. As partículas de SAP podem em seguida ser misturadas com uma resina sintética na forma em que está ou alternativamente podem ser trituradas em partículas mais finamente divididas que contenham o resíduo secado da solução aquosa do retardador de chama inorgânico e em seguida misturadas com uma resina sintética adequada.
