Abstract

"COMBINAçõES DE UMA CARCAçA DE ANODO COM UMA CARCAçA DE CATODO E DE UMA CARCAçA DE CATODO E UM DISCO DE CATODO PARA UMA CéLULA ELETROQUìMICA". é descrita uma célula de zinco/ar que tem revestimento do anodo e revestimento do catodo em forma de copo de parede fina. A célula pode ser uma célula tipo botão que tem um anodo que compreende zinco e um disco de catodo, que pode ser catalítico, compreendendo dióxido de manganês. Os revestimentos do anodo e do catodo têm cada qual pequena espessura de parede, preferivelmente entre 2 e 5 mil (0,0508 e 0,127 mm), desejavelmente entre cerca de 2 e 3 mils (0,0508 e 0,0762 mm). O disco de catodo é inserido e em seguida puncionado no revestimento do catodo, tal que o disco seja pressionado em direção à extremidade fechada do revestimento do catodo. Isto faz com que o disco de catodo expanda radialmente entre o disco de catodo e a superfície interna do revestimento do catodo, reduzindo a chance de vazamento de eletrólito em torno da borda do disco de catodo. O diâmetro do disco de catodo é preferivelmente entre cerca de 0,5 e 2,5 mil (0,0127 e 0,0635 mm) maior do que o diâmetro interno do revestimento do catodo depois de o disco ser puncionado no revestimento do catodo.
