Abstract
"REPRESENTAçãO VIRTUAL DE SEQüêNCIAS DE NUCLEOTìDEO". A presente invenção refere-se a sondas de oligonucleotídeo que podem ser usadas para se hibridizarem a uma representação de seqüências de ácido nucléico. As composições que contêm as sondas tais como micro-arranjos também são fornecidas. A invenção também fornece processos para a utilização destas sondas e composições em aplicações terapêuticas, para diagnóstico e para pesquisa. São fornecidos sistemas e os processos para a utilização de um algoritmo de contagem de palavras que possa rapidamente e com precisão contar o número de vezes em que aparece uma cadeia de caracteres (isto é, nucleotídeos) em particular em uma seqüência de nucleotídeo (por exemplo, um genoma). Este algoritmo pode ser usado para identificar as sondas de oligonucleotídeo da invenção. O algoritmo usa uma transformada de um genoma e uma estrutura de dados auxiliares para contar o número de vezes em que ocorre uma palavra em particular no genoma.
