Abstract
"MOLéCULAS DE áCIDO NUCLéICO ISOLADAS, POLIPEPTìDIO, GENE QUIMéRICO, CéLULA HOSPEDEIRA TRANSFORMADA, MéTODOS PARA A PRODUçãO DE áCIDO LINOLéICO E DE áCIDOS GRAXOS <sym>-3, MéTODO PARA MODULAR A BIOSìNTESE DE áCIDOS GRAXOS <sym>-3 OU <sym>-6, óLEO MICROBIAL, E MéTODOS PARA A OBTENçãO DE UMA MOLéCULA DE áCIDO NUCLéICO". A presente invenção refere-se a uma <30>12 desaturase de ácido graxo com capacidade de catalisar a conversão de ácido oléico em ácido linoléico (LA; 18:2). São descritas as seqüências de ácido nucléico que codificam a desaturase, as seqüências de ácido nucléico que hibridizam na mesma, os construtos de DNA que compreendem o gene de desaturase, e os microorganismos hospedeiros recombinantes que expressam níveis aumentados da desaturase. Métodos para aumentar a produção de ácidos graxis <sym>-3 e/ou <sym>-6 específicos são descritos pela superexpressão da <30>12 desaturase de ácido graxo ou pelo rompimento do gene nativo.
