Abstract
"MéTODO PARA FUSãO DE LINGOTE COMPOSTO". A presente invenção refere-se a um método e um aparelho para a fusão de um lingote metálico composto compreendendo pelo menos duas camadas formadas separadamente de uma ou mais ligas. Um molde anular de extremidade aberta tem uma extremidade de alimentação e uma extremidade de saída e uma parede divisória para dividir a extremidade de alimentação em pelo menos duas câmaras de alimentação separadas, onde cada câmara de alimentação é adjacente a pelo menos uma outra câmara de alimentação. Para cada par de câmaras de alimentação adjacentes uma primeira corrente de liga é alimentada através de uma das câmaras do par de câmaras de alimentação no molde e uma segunda corrente de liga é alimentada através de outra das câmaras de alimentação. Uma superfície auto-sustentada é gerada na superfície da primeira corrente de liga e a segunda corrente de liga é contatada com a primeira corrente de modo que a superfície superior da segunda corrente de liga seja mantida em uma posição tal que ela primeiramente contata a superfície auto-sustentada onde a temperatura da superficie auto-sustentada está entre as temperatura líquida e sólida da primeira liga ou ela contata primeiramente a superfície auto-sustentada onde a temperatura da superfície auto-sustentada está abaixo da temperatura sólida da primeira liga mas a interface entre as duas ligas é então reaquecida para entre as temperaturas líquida e sólida, através do que as duas correntes de liga são unidas como duas camadas. As camadas de ligas unidas são então resfriadas para formar um lingote composto. Esse lingote composto tem uma ligação metalúrgica substancialmente contínua entre as camadas de ligas com partículas dispersas de uma ou mais composições intermetálicas da primeira liga em uma região da segunda liga adjacente à interface.
