Abstract

"ELEMENTO FILTRANTE DE ESCAPAMENTO DE DIESEL MELHORADO E PROCESSO PARA DEPOSITAR ìONS METáLICOS PRECIPITADOS NAS SUPERFìCIES DE UMA PAREDE POROSA RìGIDA". Elemento filtrante de escapamento de Diesel melhorado do tipo tendo uma porção de parede porosa rígida formada de uma cerâmica acicular (tal como mulita acicular) a porção de parede porosa tendo um primeiro lado e um segundo lado, a porção de parede porosa sendo revestida com um catalisador de metal precioso e um absorvente de NO~ x~, tal que quando o gás de escapamento de um motor Diesel atravessa a parede porosa rígida do primeiro lado para o segundo lado, o gás de escapamento contendo oxigênio em excesso, NO~ x~, e fuligem, a fuligem no gás de escapamento é aprisionada dentro da parede porosa rígida e oxidada cataliticamente a dióxido de carbono, o NO é oxidado cataliticamente a NO~ 2~, o qual é depois absorvido pelo absorvente de NO~ x~, e tal que quando o gás de escapamento contém monóxido de carbono e hidrocarboneto em excesso, então o absorvente de NO~ x~ é regenerado e, o hidrocarboneto e monóxido de carbono remanescente são convertidos cataliticamente a nitrogênio e dióxido de carbono.
