Abstract
"SISTEMA E MéTODO PARA VEDAR UM ESPAçO EM UM FURO DE POçO FORMADO EM UMA FORMAçãO TERRESTRE". é provido um sistema para vedar um espaço (7) em um furo de poço (1) em uma formação terrestre (2). O sistema compreende um corpo intumescível (12) arranjado no furo de poço de uma maneira a vedar o mencionado espaço pelo intumescimento do referido corpo intumescível, o corpo intumescível sendo suscetível de ficar em contato com água de formação (4) fluindo para o furo de poço, o corpo intumescível incluindo um material de matriz provido de um composto solúvel na mencionada água de formação. O material de matriz impede ou restringe substancialmente a migração do composto para fora do corpo intumescível e permite migração da mencionada água de formação para o corpo intumescível por osmose, de modo a induzir o intumescimento do corpo intumescível quando da migração da mencionada água de formação para o corpo intumescível.
