Abstract

"AçOS INOXIDáVEIS FERRìTICOS RESISTENTES à OXIDAçãO". Um método para fabricação de um artigo de aço inoxidável ferrítico tendo uma superfície resistente à oxidação inclui prover um aço inoxidável ferrítico compreendendo alumínio, pelo menos um metal de terras raras e de 16 a menos do que 30 pesos percentuais de cromo, onde o peso total dos metais de terras raras é maior do3que 0,02 pesos percentuais. Pelo menos uma superfície do aço inoxidável ferrítico é modificada, de modo que, quando submetida a uma atmosfera oxidante em alta temperatura, a superfície modificada desenvolve uma escama de óxido resistente à oxidação, rica em alumínio, eletricamente condutora compreendendo cromo e ferro e tendo uma estrutura de hematita diferindo de Fe~ 2~O~ 3~, alfa Cr~ 2~O~ 3~ e alfa A1~ 2~O~ 3~. A superfície modificada pode ser provida, por exemplo, pela modificação eletroquímica da superfície, tal como pelo polimento elétrico da superfície.
