Abstract

"EQUIPAMENTO E MéTODO PARA O PROCESSAMENTO DE UM SINAL DE áUDIO MULTICANAIS, EQUIPAMENTO PARA O PROCESSAMENTO INVERSO DOS DADOS DE ENTRADA E MéTODO DE PROCESSAMENTO INVERSO DOS DADOS DE ENTRADA". No processamento de um sinal de áudio multicanais tendo pelo menos três canais originais, são providos um primeiro canal downmix e um segundo canal downmix (12), que se derivam dos canais originais. Para um canal original selecionado dos canais originais, são calculadas as informações colaterais de canal (14) de maneira que um canal downmix ou um canal downmix combinado incluindo o primeiro e o segundo canais downmix, quando pesados usando as informações colaterais de canal, resulta em uma aproximação do canal original selecionado. As informações colaterais de canal e o primeiro e o segundo canais downmíx formam os dados de saída (20) a ser transmitidos a um decodificador que, no caso de um decodificador de baixo nível somente decodifica o primeiro e o segundo canais downmix ou, no caso de um decodificador de alto nível, provê total sinal de áudio multicanais baseado nos canais downmix e nas informações colaterais de canal. Como as informações colaterais de canal somente ocupam um pequeno número de bits, e como o decodificador não usa dematrixing, é obtida uma extensão eficiente e de alta qualidade multicanais para os stereo players e os players ampliados multicanais.
