Abstract

"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA PRODUçãO DE PELOTAS DE PET CRISTALINAS". Um método e aparelho para peletização submersa e subseqüente secagem de polímeros de polietileno tereftalato e outros materiais poliméricos de cristalização de alta temperatura para cristalizar as pelotas de polímero sem subseqüente aquecimento. Ar de alta velocidade ou outro gás inerte é injetado na linha de pasta fluida de água e pelota para o secador perto da saída do peletizador. O ar é injetado na linha de pasta fluida a uma velocidade de cerca de 100 a cerca de 175 m¬ 3¬/hora. Tal movimento do ar a alta velocidade forma uma mistura de vapor com a água, e aumenta significantemente a velocidade das pelotas dentro e fora do secador tal que as pelotas de polímero de PET deixam o secador à uma temperatura suficiente para auto-iniciar a cristalização dentro das pelotas. Um mecanismo de válvula na linha de pasta fluida após a injeção de gás regula adicionalmente o tempo de residência da pelota, e um transportador após o secador ajuda as pelotas a alcançarem o nível desejado de cristalização e evita aglomeração.
