Abstract

"MéTODO DE USO DE CARBONOS SELECIONADOS PARA REAGIR COM VAPORES DE AL~ 2~O E AL NA PRODUçãO CARBOTéRMICA DE ALUMìNIO". A presente invenção refere-se a um método para recuperação de Al de um gás de topo (3,4) produzido durante redução carbotérmica de alumínio utilizando pelo menos um forno de fusão redutora (1,2), o gás de topo (3,4) é direcionado para um reator fechado (5) que é alimentado com um suprimento de carvão vegetal (7) tendo uma porosidade de cerca de 50 % em volume a 85 % em volume e um diâmetro médio de poro de cerca de 0,05 <109>m a cerca de 2,00 <109>m, onde o carvão vegetal (7) entra em contato com o gás de topo (3,4) para produzir pelo menos Al~ 4~C~ 3~, que é retornado ao forno de fusão redutora (1,2).
