Abstract

CABO óPTICO PARA COMUNICAçãO E PROCESSO PARA FABRICAR UM CABO óPTICO São descritos um cabo óptico (100) para comunicação, que compreende pelo menos um elemento de retenção (2) bloqueado em relação à propagação de água, bem como um processo para fabricar tal cabo óptico (6). O cabo óptico (100) compreende, em adição ao elemento de retenção (2) pelo menos dois elementos de transmissão (3) abrigados dentro do elemento de retenção (2), e um fio que incha com água (4) abrigado dentro do elemento de retenção (2). O fio que incha com água (4) é selecionado de acordo com a equação a seguir, na qual V~ w~ é o volume do fio que incha com água (4) depois de inchar de contato com água; Vis o volume livre total no elemento de retenção (2); k é uma constante <242>180 R é urna constante <242>1,4; e V~ 1~ é o volume livre para cada elemento de transmissão (3). Vantajosamente o cabo óptico (100) é bloqueado para água, e o fio que incha com água (4) não induz efeitos de micro-flexão) nos elementos de transmissão (3).
