Abstract

DISPOSITIVO PARA SEPARAçãO DE áGUA EM HIDROGêNIO E OXIGêNIO Descrevemos dispositivo de produção de hidrogênio a partir de água utilizando calor. O dispositivo emprega divisão de água termal e trabalha essencialmente sem eletricidade. Ele se baseia no conceito de reator de membrana com dois tipos de membranas, permitindo a separação de hidrogênio e oxigênio simultaneamente em quantidades estequiométricas a partir do volume do reator. O dispositivo possui geometria especial que resulta em distribuição de temperatura no interior da câmara de reação para acomodar o uso de membranas seletivas de hidrogênio. O dispositivo ajudará a reduzir a necessidade de transporte e armazenagem de hidrogênio, pois será bastante compacto para uso local em residências, pequenas fábricas ou postos de gasolina. O uso do dispositivo em aplicações móveis é concebível. A fonte de calor do dispositivo conforme descrito é a combustão de hidrocarboneto utilizando tecnologia de queimadores porosos; entretanto, o dispositivo pode ser modificado para explorar qualquer outra fonte de calor, especialmente radiação solar.
