Abstract
"GERAçãO AUTOMATIZADA DE TAXONOMIA". Em uma taxonomia hierárquica de documento, as categorias de informação podem ser estruturadas como uma árvore binária com os nós da árvore binária contendo informações relevantes para a busca. A árvore binária pode ser <39>treinada<39>, ou formada examinando um conjunto de documentos de treinamento e separando aqueles documentos em dois nós filhos. Cada um daqueles conjuntos de documentos pode ser então dividido adicionalmente em dois nós a fim de criar a estrutura de dados de árvore binária. os nós podem ser gerados para maximizar a probabilidade de que todos os documentos de treinamento estejam em qualquer um ou ambos nós filhos. Em um exemplo, cada nó da árvore binária pode ser associado a uma lista de termos e cada termo em cada lista de termos é associado a uma probabilidade daquele termo aparecer em um documento dado aquele nó. Documentos novos podem ser categorizados pelos nós da árvore. Por exemplo, os documentos novos podem ser designados a um nó específico com base na similaridade estatistica entre aquele documento e o nó associado.
