Abstract

"COMPOSIçãO QUE COMPREENDE UM AMIDO PARCIALMENTE PRé-GELATINIZADO E MéTODO DE PREPARAR O MESMO". Essa invenção se refere a uma composição que compreende amido parcialmente pré-gelatinizado, fisicamente modificado, o qual é útil como um excipiente multifuncional para formas de dosagem sólidas, um método de fazer tal composição, e formas de dosagem sólidas preparadas usando a composição. Tal composição e caracterizada por uma predominância de partículas tendo ambas as porções birrefringentes e não birrefringentes, um volume de sedimentação de entre 1,5 e 9 ml/g, e uma solubilidade em água gelada de entre 1 e 8%. Esse amido de livre escoamento pode ter um tamanho médio de partícula maior que 30 <109>m, e um teor de umidade de entre 5 e 12% em peso. 500 mg de tablete de placebo preparado de tal composição a 13 kN usando uma prensa de tablete manual equipada com um perfurador cóncavo padrão de 1,11 cm (7/16<39><39>) tem uma resistência à trituração de pelo menos 160 Newtons, e um tempo de desintegração de não mais que 10 minutos.
