Abstract

POLìMERO RESISTENTE à RADIAçãO GAMA. A presente invenção se refere à estabilização do Poli (cloreto de vinila)-PVC pela modificação química na sua estrutura. As modificações feitas foram através da reação de Barbier e redução com o Zn em meio aquoso. Esses polímeros modificados quando são submetidos a esterilização por radiação gama não sofrem degradação por cisão da cadeia, sendo esse tipo de degradação muito comum no PVC. Essa invenção do PVC modificado está direcionada a obtenção de polímeros estáveis que possam ser utilizados na confecção de materiais poliméricos como os produtos médico-hospitalares e os utilizados para o acondicionamento de materiais alimentícios, os quais precisam ser rigorosamente estéreis. Desta forma, a esterilização nesse tipo de polímero tende a conservar as propriedades do material polimérico sem comprometer a qualidade do produto.
