Abstract

SISTEMAS, MéTODOS, INTERFACES E SOFTWARE PARA ESTENDER RESULTADOS DE BUSCA ALéM DOS LIMITES DEFINIDOS PELA CONSULTA INICIAL Para facilitar a pesquisa legal,empresas, tais como a Thomson West, fornecem sistemas de recuperação de informação em linha com base em assinatura. Buscando aperfeiçoar esses e sistemas IR relacionados, os presentes inventores reconheceram que pesquisadores frequentemente deixam passar alguns tipos de documentos, tais como tratados e enciclopédias legais que podem ser úteis para os mesmos. Consequentemente, os presentes inventores arquitetaram sistemas, métodos e software que automaticamente pesquisam por outros tipos de documentos nas especificamente almejados pelas consultas de usuário. Um sistema exemplar automaticamente submete uma consulta de usuário por opiniões legais para primeira e segunda bases de dados, com os primeiros documentos de opiniões legais armazenadas e segundos documentos de não opinião, tais como notas do West Key Number System, artigos do American Law Rrports e/ou artigos do American Jurisprudence.
