Abstract

USO DE ANTICORPOS ANTI-ALFA5BETA1 PARA INIBIR A PROLIFERAçãO DE CéLULAS CANCERìGENAS. A presente invenção refere~se a métodos para morte direta de células cancerígenas que usam anticorpos anti-<244>5 <225>1.Geralmente, o método compreende o contato de uma célula cancerígena que expresse o <244>5<225>1 na sua superfície com um anticorpo anti-<244>5<225>1, e desse modo induzindo a morte da célula cancerígena. Os métodos de acordo com a presente invenção podem ser empregados em uma primeira etapa do desenvolvimento do câncer em um paciente para prevenir o estabelecimento de tumor. Também, os métodos podem ser utilizados para tratar tumores anteriormente formados especialmente os cânceres que provaram não serem suscetíveis à terapia antiangiogênese. Os métodos podem ser empregados como uma terapia de combinação de anticorpos anti-<224>5<224>1 em conjunto com agentes quimioterapêuticos ou outros agentes moleculares terapêuticos anticâncer.
