Abstract

COMPOSIçõES ALIMENTìCIAS PARA ANIMAIS DE ESTIMAçãO E MéTODOS DE USO. São descritas composições e métodos que usam ácido estearidónico (SDA). Em uma modalidade, a descrição refere-se a composições alimentícias para animais de estimação que compreendem SDA. Em modalidades opcionais, as composições são nutricionalmente balanceadas. Em ainda outra modalidade, a descrição refere-se a métodos selecionados entre promover a saúde óssea ou das juntas, promover a função de condrócitos, manter a concentração de ácidos graxos ómega-3 no tecido, promover a concentração de ácidos graxos ómega-3 no tecido e combinações destes métodos, inclusive similares, em um animal de estimação, compreendendo a administração, ao animal de estimação, de uma composição contendo SDA. Em modalidades opcionais, o animal de estimação é um filhote de cachorro, um filhote de gato, um cachorro de raça grande ou um animal geriátrico.
