Abstract

SUPORTES DE HANDOFF PARA REDES POSSUINDO DIFERENTES PROTOCOLOS DE ESTABELECIMENTO DE LINK. Em um sistema de comunicação no qual um nó realizando roaming, buscando acesso à rede entre diferentes redes que são implementadas com diferentes protocolos de camada de interface de rede, esquemas de handoff são instituídos pelo que o nó pode se mover livremente de uma rede para outra com níveis reduzidos de interrupções com relação ao acesso à rede. Antes de e no início de um handoff, o nó recebe uma indicação para handoff. A indicação pode ser incorporada em várias formas como uma mensagem de sinal indicando uma alteração do SID (Identificação do sistema), NID (Identificação de rede), ou PZID (Identificação de Zona de pacote). Alternativamente, a indicação pode estar na forma de informações incluídas diretamente em um pacote de dados enviado para o nó realizando roaming antes do handoff. Como alternativa, a indicação pode ser implementada como padrões de mensagem distinguíveis enviados para o nó no qual diferentes padrões de mensagem podem ser enviados por diferentes redes que suportam diferentes protocolos de camada de interface de rede.
