Abstract

ACELERANDO MUDANçA DE CANAL. São descritos um método e um aparelho para reduzir o retardo ao mudar de canais em um ambiente de televisão. O método pode compreender receber uma pluralidade de canais de televisão a partir de um provedor de conteúdo remoto em que cada canal inclui informação de canal requerida para exibição do canal. Pelo menos um canal da pluralidade de canais pode ser identificado como um canal armazenado e a informação de canal; do pelo menos um canal armazenado; pode ser armazenada em armazenador (por exemplo, em um buffer circular) . Posteriormente, mediante seleção do canal armazenado, a informação de canal armazenado é acessada para exibição. Em uma modalidade exemplar, o armazenador pode ser atualizado para manter um quadro-I recebido mais recentemente e sinais MPEG subseqúentes do canal armazenado.
